If you like hair-care lines with kicky products names, colorful packaging, and a philosophy that all but demands its users have a sense of humor, welcome to TIGI. Founded over 30 years ago by the Italian brothers Toni and Guy Mascolo, it has grown into an international brand sold in dozens of countries. TIGI's educators (and the company's fervent belief in teaching all aspects of haircutting and styling to the salon owners and staff who sell their products) are admirable, and they have a well-earned reputation as trendsetters in the salon industry. Don't let the unconventional packaging and often risqué names fool you - this line really does take hair care and styling seriously, and has some outstanding products to prove it.


The shampoos are uniformly excellent, as are most of the conditioners, though there are no extremely emollient options for very dry or damaged hair; TIGI has some of the most creatively named and fun styling products around, and the really good news is that almost all of them perform well; the sheer extent and range of styling products means every hairstyle imaginable can be realized; best of all, this line does not suffer from blatant repetition in each product category as so many other lines do.
